Well I'm trying to get caught up on some scanning, so here's a "new" shot from last fall on Wilson Mesa, with Brent D. Unfortunately I had to bug out the night before he got that awesome rainbow shot. More to come!!!

Very intense colors. Very nice!

Great shot with the clouds and colors.
Wilson Mesa was the highlight of my fall colors trip this year.
Can you tell me what road you were shooting from and approximate date of the image?

Derek, this was on Oct 3 but I don't even know what road I was on. I was driving around like crazy through the maze up there checking out different spots.
Very nice John!! Perfect with the clouds too!!! Is this just up the road from our sunset spot? Glad to finally be seeing the images form that week! Let's see some more!! That was a bummer you had to take off that night, especially considering it was 9PM, and you had a 7 hour drive ahead of you! You crazy!!! But I've told you that before!! Oh, and that rainbow? that's just a rainbow plug-in fro Photoshop!!
Derek, that would have been October 3rd, 2005.

Brent,
Yes I believe this view was somewhere in that general area, but probably at a lower elevation given the perspective. That was quite a drive back. Don't worry though because I still had TWO of those Photoshop plugin moments (even though one was minuscule).

I have Got to get that plugin!!!
Now see what you went and did. I am already starting to think about next fall
Wait we still have winter, spring and summer to go...
I guess I'll need to work on more of my snow shooting skills first.

For everyone except for Derek, here's another one I posted on M&N from last fall, two days earlier and a little bit to the east. If I can't have Brent's shot at least I can plagerize his title.

Wow,
I couldn't help myself, I had to look
I like that one even more! The colors, contrast and composition are outstanding!!! Where do I get one?
Wow John. I really dig that one also! Geez man, now I really want to see more!!! Oh, and there will be a bill in the mail for use of my title.... $3000 per letter!!
Good stuff man!!!

Okay Brent, but I'm not paying for the M or the Y. I came up with that myself.

Where is this? ;-) Beautiful work and a beautiful scene. The other one is killer, too. Looks like you had an okay trip, eh?

Rick, this is on the back side of Wilson Mesa to the west of the houses up there. Brent could probably give you a road number.
Yeah, last fall I had a great trip. This fall I was out there for the premature dumping and got some nice and different stuff but it didn't seem to come together like before. I was just a couple of hours from making it over Independence pass before it closed to shoot at the Bells with everyone else on Sat and Sun.

John - sorry, I was joking about the location but didn't do a good job!
You must have been right behind me on Independence. I was one of the last cars over before they closed it that Friday afternoon. Worst drive I can recall from 10 yrs of living here. Took me over two very nerve-racking hours to go the 30-some miles on 82.
It was definitely a different feel this fall. Having easy access, I didn't mind the snow as it created scenes I've never before witnessed. If I had driven cross-country, I imagine I'd feel differently, but that Saturday and Sunday near the Bells and Maroon Creek were two amazing days.
