Hi guys, I'm back in Denmark, but weather is absolutely awfull. Took a trip to a local harbour today, where lots of flatfish had found refuge from a storm inside the harbour-bassin. Great Cormorants where catching them very effeciently, but often loosing the fish to awaiting gulls. Whenever a Cormorant emerged it would try to swallow the large fish right away, before the gulls could steal them. I got loads of images showing the action, but had real trouble finding the speed to stop the action.

Now that is a shot & a half Helge lol.
Some would like the whole body in the shot but this I think would have lost the eye contact between themselves
Like this alot

Hi Helge
Wow, what an image, those Danish cormorants certainly have big appetites
A shame the light wasn't a bit better as this is a superb bit of behaviour to see and photograph.
Nice one
cheers

We have a saying "eyes bigger than the stomach" which seems very appropiate here, Amazing what they take on. Great capture.

It must be a bit disconcerting having your meal stare you in the eye
Helge you really do get some very interesting shots and capture moments I only dream of.
Great behaviour shot extremely well taken considering the weather conditions....

Hi Helge
What a great image - love the eye contact with both the bird and fish. One of those rare images which you will find is both appealing to fellow photographer's and very commercial!
