Here is a waterfall I have never photographed before (click here for link). (I found it while out rambling several years ago and vowed to return when there was plenty of water - there was this morning.) It is located about three miles from my cabin - although it seems a lot farther when hiking in frozen leaves. When I got to it this morning I discovered that my tripod legs were frozen solid and would not extend. I had the tripod inside all night fully open so that everything would dry out, but I guess there was still just enough water left inside to freeze up. It took me a while to find a suitable location where I could get a good shot with the tripod so low, especially on the very steep hillside. The wind was blowing the spray all over the place, plus it was snowing, but after about a 20-minute wait I got a few seconds of calm conditions and took this shot. By then I was ready for a hot lunch to hiked back to the cabin. Seems like all the waterfalls of late are growing right behind nice golden beeches. One shot for the morning, and now I am about to head out to hike to another waterfall somewhere within an hours hike of me - this time I'll take my big wood tripod so the only frozen legs I'll have to worry about will be mine...

Very nice Tim. It looks like those legs froze at just the right height.
