Here are a couple waterfall shots from this afternoon. Since I'll be doing a black and white printing workshop next month I wanted to get into the Ansel Adams mood. (Or is that mode?) I find winter landscaps around here do pretty well in black and white, and with the new BW adjustment layer in CS3, it is easy as pie to get exactly what you want. Ansel would be staying up late playing with all of this...

I like both of these Tim, but am drawn into the one on the left most. You really did a nice job with the light, and the detail and glossy texture of the wet rocks is sweet. Both look nice in B&W.

If this rain keeps up, you should have no lack of subjects for the workshop. I'm looking forward to seeing everybody's work.

Hey Bill, did you get out and shoot today? It was great everywhere with lots of water, although I decided to stay up here on the mountain and get some real work done in between photo trips. I'm headed out in the morning hunting for ice...

Tim - I went over to Tea Kettle Falls (one of my favorites, and not too far away) and spent a couple of hours yesterday. There was a lot more water than I expected, and had to come down from the top. Even though it's a climb all the way out (compared to being flat if you come in along the creek), I really enjoy walking that loop. I usually see deer and turkeys along the way, and all kinds of birds. I'll post a waterfall shot later on today...

You shouldn't have much trouble finding some ice - there was plenty around Tea Kettle yesterday. With the sun expected to pop out today, I'm looking forward to seeing some good ice comps. Just be careful!
