Got out on sat. morning and it was a little chilly! But it was a gorgeous morning with some fresh snow, and postholing through 2 feet of snow is a great way to warm up! Nikon D70, 18-70 @18, f14.

#1 just LOOKS cold. I really like the color and the tilted hillside on #2. Nice texture on the snow in both shots. Where were they taken?

Nice shots Chris! You are brave to get out in that cold! (or crazy ).
Chris, Nice job emphasizing the foreground in both images. You may want to crop out the branch on the top of #2. I love the grass, warm light and detail in that one!

Forgot to put it in first post, these are taken up at the Castle Pines Golf Course area. thanks for the comments. i didn't notice it before, but cropping out that little branch in #2 does make a difference!

I just saw Josh's comment, which is funny, because I was just about to say how shot #1 doesn't look as cold as I know it was. That's something I've been noticing the last few days, that when it's nice and sunny and you're inside, it's hard to fathom just how cold it is out there til you step out the door and the temp slaps you in the face.
#2: That's rockin'!

I like the second photo very much. The warm light and the frozen grass are great. I would suggest cropping out most of the tree, because it distracts me from the grass.
Thanks for posting.

Great! I like #2 the best with the backlight and frozen grass. Looking at #1 makes my fingers ache remembering the cold, even from today.

Ummm...yep, #2 ROCKS. Wow - very nice. #1 ain't shabby, but the warm light and cold conditions of #2 make for a great combo, plus the floc on the grass is sweet. If you can clone out that branch instead of cropping down, I think that's the way to go. Great to see you posting again!
