I have been trying to photograph great bustards for a couple of years with little success. This is one of my best efforts with no such great light and a boring ugly sky. The bird looks proud though.

Looks good to me, the bland sky doesn't bother me at all, (I guess we are used to that now), the colour, pose and setting of the bird are so strong it is negated, love that tail and the look I am having my picture taken pose.

Such a proud bird, love to see one. Are they easy to approach? Is this an english one? Anyway nice shot, perhaps too close the enviroment looks terrific.

I love it - such a superb pose and great colours. The flat sky doesn't bother me - at least it hasn't blown.

Has to be Extramadura - love the pose and the carpet of purple/yellow flowers really work well in terms of colour too.

Good stuff

Extremadura indeed. I will be back there this coming spring.

Hoping to make it out there next Spring - too many other trips planned and UK commitments this year - may well want to touch base when it comes to planning though.
