This is just a place to put photos to go with my post on the digital forum, which didn't allow photos with posts.
THIS is Zoombrowser EX, having retained the "landscape" picture style settings.

Nice image. I didn't even realize there was a digital forum.

Are you getting an error message when you try to upload, or is the attachment field not available?

Check out the "Select Forum" drop down box at the top-right of the forum for a full list of forums within the Nature Photographers Network community (RMNP is just one of the regional forums).

Zoombrowser's landscape rendition is similar in effect to Canon's DPP Landscape effect, they both give an overly intense Velvia look to things. The blue sky looks electric and unnatural and the warm tones in the leaves look overprocessed. IMHO, too oversaturated and contrasty compared to the neutral processing effects, which for me can be easily worked with to get the proper saturation and contrast as seen in real life. My guess is the ACR example looks more like what the scene probably looked like to the naked eye. My current preference as a RAW processor is Capture One which I started using in November. Your mileage may vary, as this is a very subjective topic.

Maybe it's just psychological, but I find it easier and more enjoyable to start with the look of the first photo and back off where needed than to try to coax what I want out of the second. I would also profer that 9 out of 10 people, when given the choice, would think photo #1 was prettier than photo #2.

It's amazing how different two raw file processors can render things isn't it? I would tend to agree with Todd that the first one will be much easier to get where you want by simply layering the ARC version underneath the Zoombrowser version and either adjusting opacity on the top layer or masking where you want the lower version to show more.
But Todd's point about most people thinking #2 is prettier is probably dead on. Hell I think so in the land portion (looks Velvia like to me). But the sky needs to be turned down a bit to be more realistic.
