I'm finding my local pond ideal training ground for in flight bird photography. Someday I would like to photograph eagles in flight and so I hope this may go towards all the practice I'm going to need.
I'm playing around with some new processing tips so your comments on how this looks are very welcome. I've introduced Neat Image into my workflow and find the results astonishing although I hope that I'm not getting caught up in a trap of going over the top with it. Also I am trying to decide on a frame and sig, so your thoughts on this would be good.
Lastly this is a Common Gull isnt it?

At this size it is difficult to tell but your processing looks good to me. I'd like to learn a lot more about workflow too as my PPwork needs to be improved badly.
Thanks Rob. At first I was trying to lighten up the top half of the sky but it didnt look realistic, the sun was in and out and giving these great moody skies.
Looks good to me... lighting is a touch harsh which has resulted in a couple of spots where the whites are heading towards hot, probably not helped by web compression, like the sky and a good composition... the tail feather spread is particularly nice.
