Long eared owl
One from today the only way I could see the owls today was to stand on top of the fence, and I had to extend my tripod to its fullest height including the centre column to give me about seven feet in height.

Hi Andy yes marton mere just 4 but I could only clearly see three today and of the three this one was the best photograph.

Hi Tim yes he did have a quick stare at me when he saw me climbing on the fence but after the first time I fell off I think it was laughing at me and the second time I was just been stubborn, I really should have nipped off home as its only about half a mile away from the owls and got my stepladders but there's nothing like being stubborn.

Phillip.

Nice one, a busy environment but the subject is strong enough to negate that, would have loved to see you stood on top of the fence.... the things we do to get the image eh...

All the best

Just trying to imaging you balancing on the fence with a 7ft tripof and 5ft lens  Great effort Phil. Its seems like nothing will stand in your way of getting a great shot. Have still been looking for window in the weather to visit with you... :toast:

I think the background really adds to this image showing how the birds plummage allows it to blend in
