Lapwing
Canon EOS 1D MKII, 600mm non IS, 1.4x conv, NPN groundshot plate, 1/1000, F7, ISO 250, RAW, RSE, CS2.

Hi All,

This is from my archives back in the summer on Phil's workshop.
I find Lapwings are common birds but a bit tricky to get images of, so was pleased when this turned up and allowed me to get some decent shots  .

All comments welcome

Nice clean pic Rob, and I like the low down viewpoint too. Light possibly a little harsh but it is as it is isn't it?

Very good low angle on this Rob. I find the light has really shown off the irridescent feathers well.

Good low viewpoint, aided by Phils design of the pond here I guess, difficult to get the exposure on these and the whites seem to be getting a little hot, at least at this size and on my monitor, I tend when processing for the web to try and get a little more in the whites as the compression can often send them into the clipping zone.

Hi Rob,

Like the viewpoint and the colours of the bird, the highlights don't bother me but looks a little soft (although on my laptop)...

Cheers
