Taken last week at one of the feeding stations. Conditions were very dull, which is the norm at the moment. Coming away with a few shots like this, I was quite pleased with.
The background is the side netted panel of a release aviary.
D2X - 400mm AF-S F2.8
ISO 200, F4, 1/125th sec
Using the vehicle as a hide.
Thanks for looking

Hi Vince,
Great stuff. I am a little distracted by the second teasel which I feel does unbalance the shot a little, but for me this is very very minor. Great background. Looks so clear and grey that its been shot indoors with one of those portrait curtains. Superb light, great capture.
Nice typical Goldfinch, we haven't seen many in the south east recently, agree with Elliot re the second teasel, however I am more concerned that the head area looks oversharpened, I am guessing that due to AF the focus point was behind the crucial head/eye area and you have tried to compensate for this in PP, may be wrong.....

Everything is spot on apart from the composition to me - maybe more space above/less below? just an idea...
