Adobe released Beta 2 for Bridge 2. You have to have Adobe Photoshop CS3 Beta already installed. This update is for Bridge only and fixes several problems in Beta 1 of Bridge 2.

Adobe really needs to get more user friendly with their installers. Every time I install a new version of PS or one of its components I have to reconfigure something that I had already set up with the previous version.

The first CS3 bridge could not use the local thumbnail databases or pretty much any of the settings I had in my CS2 bridge. Now this upgrade reset my favorites list.

I mean even Microsoft got this right.

I've downloaded both CS3 Beta and the new Bridge Beta2, but still haven't been able to use them fully. I get an error message when Bridge tries to open; after clicking OK on the error message Bridge comes up however. CS3 isn't working well at all for me. When I try to do most any editing I get a fast blinking cursor that doesn't want to work. I can't change blending modes at all - the window just opens and then inmmediately closes again. Same thig with levels, curves, or any other adjustment later - I click on the icon - the window pops up and then immediately closes.

Has anyone else run into these problems?

I've had not one problem on my MacPro.

I get the same error that Bill gets when Bridge opens. CS3 seems to work fine though.

OK, I uninstalled and re-installed and CS3 seems to work well now, although I still get an error message when Bridge first tries to open. After I clink OK on the error message it opens and appears to work ok though. Have also downloaded Lightroom, but haven't been real impressed so far with that - leaning toward staying with PS at this point.

Go into the Bridge 2 preferences, select startup scripts, and disable some of them. That resolved all of my Bridge 2 startup problems.

Thanks Walter, I'll try that.

Thanks, Walter. That took care of my Java script error messages. Now everything works OK with Bridge 2 and CS3.

Bill, I agree with you about LIghtroom - at least at this stage. The new CS3 will keep me happy.

Walter - I went in and unchecked some of the scripts and just like you said it works fine now. Thanks again!
