I'm heading to Vegas next week on business and I'll have just one afternoon and evening free. Does anyone have any recommendations for sunset locations 1-2 hours drive from the city? I'd much rather shoot photos than shoot craps.
Thanks,
Ron

Check out Valley of Fire State Park. It is roughly 50 miles east of Vegas. It has some interesting petroglyghs, sandstone formations and really cool arches. http://parks.nv.gov/vf.htm

I'll second the suggestion for Valley of Fire. Really an underrated photography destination with lots to choose from.

I live in Sin City, and the closest, most photogenic area is Red Rock Canyon National Conservation Area, west of Las Vegas. There is an admission fee, arrive early it gets crowded on weekends:
