Before selecting Save for Web, you have to convert the aRGB file to sRGB. Go to Edit>Convert to Profile and choose sRGB IEC61966-2.1 from the drop-down selection box. Engine should be set to Adobe (ACE) and Intent should be set to Relative Colorimetric with Use Black Point Compensation ticked. You won't see any change on screen - which is want, right.

As Phil Shaw says but I would add that dependant on the image a better option for rendering intent may be Perceptual, particularly if you have fine gradation of out of gamut colour...

Perceptual will compress all colour (and detail) into the destination space avoiding any clipping.

Relative colourmetric is a near 1 to 1 matching of in gamut colours but may clip out of gamut colours as they are only moved to the outer limit of the new space which may result in clipping and therefore banding....

Of course it is horses for courses here but my first option for photographic images would be perceptual at the risk of a possible slight chance in colour.

Black point compensation should alweays be checked as this will preserve the detail and finer gradations within shadows etc....

All the best

Phil

I'm having a similar problem to Andy but I am doing all the above, converting to sRGB first but it is still affecting the colours.

Last year on here people helped me out and pointed out that you should convert to sRGB first. I haven't had a problem since until now with this one photo. I have tried Phil S and Phil H's methods but same results.

Is there anything else that can be tweaked/changes to stop the saving as a jpeg affecting the colours?

Thanks

Gavin

Hi you also have to remember that when you say for the web out of photo shop save for the Web, it needs to be told which profile you want it to use there is little triangle top right in save for the Web you need to select (use document profile).

Phillip.
