Sunburst Sea
Working with the wave action again on a recent trip to the coast just North of Oceanside. Probably the best thing about this trip were the stunning Agates and Rose Quartz I collected (some weighing in at more than 5 pounds!) on this difficult to access beach, which also featured two magnificent 100+ foot deep ocean caves. The sunset light wasn't too bad either though.

5D, 17-40 at 28mm, 3-stop hard grad, 1/10 sec. at F14, ISO 50.

Mark, this is my (and now my grown kids and young grandchildrens) fav.beach. We have collected agates and Jasper there for 25 years. When we started you had to just scramble down the steep clay bank. Most trips have been in the rain or fog and I have very few photos from there other then family. Oh, another great shot by the way. Congrats on newspaper also. :jump:

Another great shot of some wave action Marc. I love how the sun rays mimic the the little wisps of wave that reach in front of the 3rd sea stack.

Another excellent shot. Is the spray going over the third sea stack from out there or is it spraying up close?

It's spraying up close, but I did like how it framed the sea-stack and wrapped around the sun, following the wave pattern. Here is a 100% crop that shows the finer detail in water action not seen at this small web-size.

Lotsa action! I like it. The light hitting the water is what draws me in...more than the action

I LOVE THIS PIC. May I know where is this beach and how to get there?
