Local visitor at the moment, took a few attempts to get him but was happy with this one. I've had a few goes at various processing methods and felt this worked best.

C+C very welcome.

Canon 400D - 600L IS - 1.4x tc - f8 - 1/320th

Thanks

Too much foreground for my taste - perhaps positioned on lower third would work better for me.

Hi Raff

Nice shot, I like the way the colour of the reflections matches the white/grey of the Pochard.

I would agree with John and crop some of the foreground area.

cheers

Raff

Nice image with good exposure and I like the droplets of water on the head however II find the bird just a bit too smll in the frame to have real impact.

Nice image Raff. Processing looks good to me. I too would prefer it a bit bigger in the frame and some off the bottom. Othe rthan that, a cool shot :toast:

Thanks all for your comments. I agaree after following some of your tips with this shot that coming in a little tighter and losing some of the foreground make it a bit more grabbing.

Thanks.

I agree on the cropping comments however I love the droplets on the head - it gives the bird real character and tells a story of its behaviour.

Hello Raff
Easy enough to crop a little from the bottom, so it certainly appeals to me. Excellent capture.
Best wishes
