Anyone who has viewed my website knows I have been using Photobucket to host my photo galleries but they have made their viewing routines too cumbersome lately.
I did a search of this forum and didn't see what I was looking for so here goes...
First please understand that I'm a cyber moron. I built my website with the Website Tonight package from GoDaddy. I like their service and I don't have the time, energy or desire to rebuild from scratch. I already link to my Photobucket Galleries so I'm comfortable with that concept. I have another web space that I have just acquired that allows me to upload custom galleries (built with Photoshop's automated gallery feature) because I can't do it inside my current website due to limitations within the bundled package. The problem is I don't particularly like the galleries that PS creates, even though they are far better than Photobucket.
I want to find a free (or cheap) piece of SW that will let me create photo galleries easily and quickly that look nice and can be modified and updated quickly. I want something similar to the automated PS galleries but with more styles/options or maybe some customization capability that can be understood by a digital dummy - that's me
I did a quick "google" and 3 jumped out. They were jalbum, snipegallery and coppermine. The only thing about coppermine is, it says it should be downloaded to your web space instead of your computer. I was hoping I could do all my building and mods locally since I don't ever connect my photo editing computer to the net except to download SW etc.
Any recommendations greatly appreciated.

Coppermine is built on PHP and MySQL. If you have a local web server on your computer that supports PHP and you have a local MySQL server, you can run it locally. I use Coppermine and find it excellent, but I am pretty web savvy in terms of HTML, PHP and MySQL.

Hi Mike,
Here are a couple of ideas for you.
NVU is shareware and very useful for creating web pages.
Photoshop, if you have it, creates very cool pages of mini-photos.
A web site--http://slide.com assists in making neat slide shows of existing photos. Very easy to upload photos, save the show, and they provide the text to embed in an existing web page.
Feel free to check out my page of photos: http://hy-tec-training.com/photoGallery.html.
I suspect after re-reading your post, that the best and easiest solution might be to use http://www.slide.com/. You're only pointing your viewers to another location and not adding any size to your own web server.
If you have any questions, feel free to write me directly.
