I admit it, I redesign my website way too much. But this time, I did it to take advantage of Jack's ultra cool gallery software. Yes, I'm the latest Jack Brauer victim.
There's no better feedback than that offered by your peers. So, I invite you to check out my new website - which was a guinea pig of sorts for a new collaboration between Jack and I to build websites for photographers. I appreciate any comments or suggestions!
More importantly, I would also love to trade links/add your website to my new links page.

Jesse:
What can I say...it rocks! Super clean design, easy to navigate and, of course, killer photos.

Awesome site Jesse!! And yes, killer photos never hurt!!
I love the fact that you hike as well. I am so looking forward to getting back out there. I got into photography for another reason to get outdoors, and if I get lucky every now and then and get a good shot, it will all be worth it!

Friggin Sweet Jesse!

Jesse, the redesign looks awesome. Great photos, cool journal, and even graphic design stuff. A veritable Renaissance man of imaging.

Great job Jesse--it doesnt get any better than that! Ill be putting up my new (non-photo) site in a couple weeks, it'll be first grade work compared with yours, but maybe you can give me some tips once im ready.

I LOVE the site, and your photos aren't bad either.

What everyone else said.

The site looks incredible, although I must admit, I only scrolled through your gallery images and will peruse the rest later.
I have to speak to the photos, however. Jesse, I can honestly say that I don't think I've seen a better collection of Colorado photos ever before. I defy anyone to find two more inspired photos than "Tundra Light" and "Autumn Grass." You're great on the grand scenics, but your ability to break a more intimate scene down to its essential beauty is unmatched by anyone whose photos I've ever seen. Whether it's a real close-up of flower details or a horizonless view of a waterfall, your knack for creating something fresh is simply unreal.
Part of me looks through your photos and says, "WTF, I might as well just sell my gear." The better part of me looks at your images and shows how far I have yet to go to achieve that level of success, and makes me think how much fun I'll have trying to get there. Thanks for that.

You make me sick! How can one person have that much talent? Your photographic skill is equal to your amazing design skill. Simply stunning!

All I can say is, ACK! as I swallowed my heart in envy! SAAAWEEEET!

Wow. That's about all I can say.

I'll just add another to the list... My jaw dropped (and coffee just about spilled out, this morning) when I saw "Emerald Wave." Inspiring, indeed.

Incredible combination of design, photography and programming. WOW.

One of the nicer photo web sites I've seen from a design and ease of browsing standpoint. The photos are a pure inspiration, as well. I really enjoyed visiting and looking at things.

Thank you all very much, sincerely! I'm even more proud of this new website after reading this thread.
And thanks Todd for boosting my confidence in my editing skills! Seriously, thank you for the meaningful, albeit overwhelming feedback. You want to know what's funny? One glance at this page a few months ago made me want to sell all my gear ... http://www.toddcaudle.com/gallery01.htm
It's one of the more innovative and attractive designs I have seen in a photo site, and as mentioned the images are superb.
I admit I liked the old one a lot too and am sad to see it go, but the new version is every bit as good.

Awesome site, Jesse, your background in graphics design helped you craft a nice, clean yet informational site. I'm very jealous.
A quick question, how did you produce the animation on the home page? I'm sure there are others who would like to know.

Well, I've been really looking forward to Canon's next 20+mp camera body, until I saw your new website. Now I think I would be better off putting that 8000.00 towards my permanent retirement and just get a big LCD monitor to allow me to drool over all your galleries of images (and Todd's, as well). Your site design is to die for, as are all the images!!!!!! Definitely a 5 star site, but I'll have to settle for 5 toasts.

I'm alternating between insane jealousy of your talent, and just being awestruck by your photos. Nice website, too, BTW.
That reminds me. I have your photo from the dunes display at my house. It's being held hostage. I'm thinking that the ransom should involve some sort of talent transfer.
Posted by Jesse Speer on January 23, 2007 at 11:39 PM
Oh yeah! Thanks Rich! I'll be in touch ...
Evan, a Flash file contains the logo, navigation and photos on the home page. Jack made it possible for this file to dynamically pull photos from the database, through a unique "gallery" that I can change/update as desired. There's also hidden navigation and unmarked links on the page, for search engine purposes. Pretty slick!
Again, thank you.

Congrats on the new website Jesse. I thought your old one was great, but this is nice and fresh and sounds like it has some slick programming.
I also love your Emerald Wave shot. My new favorite!!!

Fantastic site, Jesse! The design - and of course the photos - are all first rate. Your previous site was beautiful, but I thought it showed off your graphic design talents as much as your photos. I like that this cleaner, simpler design lets the photos take center stage. And I agree with Todd - your artistic vision and skill with the camera are both uncommonly good, and very inspirational.
