Here's an alternative perspective and taken slightly earlier than the one chosen for the Dec. cover photo, which can be found here. I really like watching the storms moving in over the eastern sierra, and it was great being out there watching the clouds slowly move in. I wish I hadn't used so much polarizer on it though.

Cory, nice scene overall. I do like the first one for angle of view better, it was really nice. I have oooodles of over polarized images too. I think I have learned my lesson, but it is hard not to use it under certain atmospheric conditions with the partical factor. Anyway, having you right there in the best place on earth sure keeps us updated with some really nice images. Thanks for sharing it.

Glad to share Paul. We consider ourselves VERY fortunate to be here and have met some very nice people as well. We just made our final move and I hope to have more time to devote to photo and exploration in the coming weeks. I don't think I want to move anymore!
I prefer the first version, although this one is very nice too.
What about cropping off a little from the very top to get rid of the over-polarized sky? The resulting composition would still remain strong in my opinion.
