Continuing in the vein of the previous questions...
How many people actually take the time to add keywords and other 'metadata' to their photos? And do you do it when downloading the images, or afterwards?
Yes, but only into very broad categories, i.e birds, mamals I import all into Aperture and add the keywords at time of import. It must work, cause I'm getting good at finding shots now
For the sports stuff I make suitably named folders on my desktop before a match/meeting and transfer the images into them. When I get home I import what is in these folders into Aperture and use the folder name as one of the keywords along with others I assign at the same time.
Stuff going to the papers gets the paper's name and the pic eds name added to the keywords when I decide on which shots to send.
Everything else just gets lost
Why the questions Nick?

Add copyright, location/shoot info etc automatically when downloading in Downloader Pro. Then add keywords to the best images in Breezbrowser after culling the rest.
Yep... as per Phil Shaw, initial additions via Downloader Pro, batch additions in BB, further keywording is added in Portfolio from a master Keyword list I created, again nearly always as a batch, on the odd occasion I will keyword separately in Portfolio.
I add keywords and descriptions to my images in PS. I've saved keyword/caption data for common subjects so that they can be loaded at the click of a button.
The main reason for doing this is for submission to Alamy. I prefer to send them my images with the keywords and captions already embedded (they are imported to Alamy's database along with the image), as I find it easier adding keywords in PS than doing it on the Alamy website.

Yep. I add authour copyright details, subject common name, scientific name, order, family, general location, and the description/caption. I do this for every image I keep.
