A popular spot in Summer, I had the ridge above Banff's Peyto Lake all to myself on this cold Winter morning.
Thanks for looking.

Gotta love the blues and pastels in this. Another great sky...wouldn't expect anything less.
I also like how the shoreline of Peyto Lk is covered in snow helping to define the lake's boundry.

brrrr, talk about feeling cold when looking at this, a very nice display of cold desolation! The pastel sky helps illuminate this scene of coldness, yet shows the every changing weather patterns, and the purity of the sky. I can feel the silence here, as if I am standing next to you looking down on this grand view. Nicely done.

Marc,
I was here a couple of years ago at the end of July. I thouight it was pretty country then. I would have to say that fall/winter is the time to visit this area. BTW I think this is an excellent image. Again your efforts have paid off.
I have a summertime shot from almost the same spot. Here
You have nicely captured the cold and isolation of this spot, I particularly like the snow field across the bottom.
I am sure you had to wait a while for the sky clearing to appear with the snowstorm in the distance. As usual you have captured the wonderful light giving hope for future clearing and warming. Nice catch of so many contrasting images.

Nice Image Marc! This is definitely on my to do list! Never been there before and ready to go. I may make the Banff area part of my vacation when I go back to Glacier National Park.

Mark,
I've been there a few times...nothing like this shot( I as there in June--tourist city---crowded with Japanese taking up the prime shooting space.)
This is one of the best Peyto Lake shot I've seen
