Flamingo (c)
Took a trip to Martin Mere last week, sun had finally come out but the wind had picked up again so all the Swans were out of reach. Had to settle for a few snaps of the Flamingos!!!

A little tight for my liking but other than that a lovely image.

Hi Andy,

Nice capture. Does it not remind you slightly of a big pink swan? In the wild they will feed like this when its too deep for them to walk easily. I presume this one is bathing. For many years biologists argued as to what family flamingoes belonged in - herons, geese etc. These days they have a family all of their own - Phoenicopteridae.

Once again nice pic

Nice one, like the drop of water on the tip of the beak, as said a shade tight, also appears to be going slightly uphill....

I'd agree with the previous comments, just a little tight and does look like its going uphill a bit. Looks like the lighting gave you a challenge here and you handled it well.

My constructive criticism would be that 1. the image looks under-exposed, 2. the image is tilted, and 3. birds cut off in the water like this are not as good compared to those with at least some leg exposed. Us red blooded males like a bit of leg and bum! Unless your a boobs man.
