The shindig looks like it's coming together nicely. Just based on those who have already signed up to bring food or drink, we've got another great turnout!
A couple of notes:
1. Brent posted this in the shindig thread, but in case folks aren't returning to that thread, this is worth repeating here: Please do NOT leave valuables in your car. There was a break-in in the parking area a couple of years ago. You can bring equipment in to the shindig.
2. We'll order pizza around 6:30 - 6:45; how many we order is based on how many people are there at that time, with a few extra thrown in for good measure. But, we still ran a little short last year. If you're planning on coming later than 6:30, please drop me an e-mail before Saturday so that I can guage how many pizzas to order. We'll order a few veggie pizzas for the vegetarians in the group.
3. Print Exchange - in the past, we tried a couple of different approaches for exchanging prints (a white elephant exchange, a 'raffle' of sorts…) but haven't really nailed down how to best do it. I received questions (and suggestions) from a few folks, but I've been traveling a lot recently and haven't had time to work on it. Given that we're just a couple of days away, I'd suggest we forego the formal print exchange. But, by all means, please bring prints to show off your portfolio, compare printers and/or printing techniques, etc. Print "viewing" is always a popular activity at the shindigs.
4. Slideshow: only a few folks have uploaded photos for the slideshow. If you plan to upload them (see the events page), you'll need to do so before 12:00 on Saturday. At that time, I'll turn off the upload form.
Looking forward to seeing you there!

Damn, I wish I was going to be out there for this. Maybe next year!!
I've got a quick question. I'm not, yet, a big landscape photographer, although joining RMNP was supposed to be an inspiration to get out and do more of it. I don't have a lot of Rocky Mountain pictures I'd like to show off, but I'd to bring some of my other work so I've got something to show. What's your (or anyone's) feeling on this?
Cheers,
Alex

Alexsei,
no problem at all! There's a wide variety of subject matter that interests us; we focus on landscapes, but many folks have backgrounds/experience in other subjects. I think I can speak for everyone and say that we're interested in many forms of photography and anything that we can appreciate and/or learn from is welcome! (If you're talking artistic nudes, you might want need to setup in a side room - we occasionally have youngsters in attendance with their parents )
