Use for old glass

Since my move to digital and the demise of Contax cameras I have a lot of old glass in my equipment bag made by Zeiss, a lens making company of some reputation from Germany.
These lens's (manual focus) actually cost me a lot of money and I am hoping one day to be able to put them on to a digital camera body. They have the standard C/Y mount that was used on the Contax 35mm film SLRs for years. Does anyone know if they will fit on to any current digital camera body, or if anyone makes adaptors for them?
Thanks

I believe there are adapters for using Contax lenses on Canon EOS bodies

There is a fairly high demand for Zeiss and Contax lenses for use with the Canon digital bodies. Post the question on the Fred Miranda website in the Canon body forum and you will get a deluge of responses.

Eddie, there is no need to sell your lens, since from your post you are satisfied with them. Novoflex
, Cameraquest, SRB film and probably someone else makes adapters for this lens to be used on variety of bodys. You migh contact them. BDW to which body would you like to mount Contax lenses?

Thanks for the information I'm intending to buy a used body, probably a 20D or 30D just to see how it all works together

Hi Eddie, you are lucky. The word is that Canon EOS is system to witch most adapters are made. I suggest you to browse links in my previous post and try to find what you are looking for. Good luck.

I purchased a CY/EOS adapter to use the 35-70 f 3.4 zoom lens on my EOS bodies. You will not have autofocus, the metering is stop-down metering, and you have to stop the lens down to the f stop you want before making an exposure. Yeah, it will be manual everything. However, I use this lens only for an intermediate landscape lens where I'm working from a tripod and setting the mirror lockup. In this use "autonothing" is no big deal and the images are absolutely superb!

Tom, Contax is "autonothing" in the first place. So what are you complaining about ?
