My name is John Klotz from Monument CO. I have been cruising this forum since July of '06. There are some very talented shooters here! I developed my first roll of 120 film when I was ten'ish and made a contact print from one of the negs... nothing pretty but I was hooked. I didn't get my first real camera until I was 28. I have burned a lot of film since then in all formats including some LF. I took a ten year break but last January I bought a Canon 20D and some L glass. I think I have the digital thing figured out now but I need to learn more about PS. I love being outdoors and shooting landscapes esp. in CO!

Derek Sedillo is a shooting buddy who introduced me to this forum. I will be coming to the Shindig on Saturday with him so looking forward to meeting many of you. Rick your anti spammer kept rejecting my email so thought I would RSVP here. John

Welcome to the group, John - looking forward to meeting you on Saturday!

Sorry about the email; not sure what's going on. That's pretty much par for the course though - my anti-spammer lets through every viagra and male-enhancement message, but blocks legitimate messages...

Welcome, John. I enjoyed your landscapes gallery.
I hope you don't give up on the group after the party on Saturday.

Hi Ken, Rick and Darren, I am looking forward to meeting everyone Saturday night. I am hoping some of the talent here will rub off on me! Darren, thanks for checking my Smug site and your kind compliments. You guys have some awesome photographs. I will bring a 16x24 print I just picked up from the framers today and some 8x10 proofs of some new stuff I am working on. I really need to learn the biz side of landscape so I can get this investment to earn some return. I am concerned about getting bit by the 4x5 field cam bug again though... John

Then the shindig is probably a bad idea...seems every year someone gets bit there and ends up as the latest member of the 4x5 crowd!  Seriously, we've obviously got some great talent here, and seeing their 4x5 trannies on the light table at the shindig makes it tough to not think about a nice field camera...

Hello Dan,
Thanks! I am looking forward to a great experience here and learning what I can from others and sharing what little I know too. My goals are to increase my Photoshop skills, perfect my crafstmanship, sell some of my work and make some new friends along the way.
John
