Hi Vince,
Yep it is, but still small fry in comparison to some, it's hard keeping up with the Jones's you know. Had a go with it today using a 2x still pretty sharp so well chuffed, its my Africa trip gear, just need a 1.7x and maybe a 1.4x.

Good on ya Tim :toast: What do you mean it's hard keeping up with the Jones's lol, Question? If you already have the 2x why do you need the 1.7X & the 1.4X

In answer to this, surely wouldn't it be better to simply step backwards 0.3x & 0.6x, it's cheaper:biggrin:

Anyway its a great lense & one I am looking to acquire, not the VR but the AF-S Mk1

Well if I'm shooting from a vehicle stepping back could cause a loss of dignity, also the word on the street is that the 1.7x is definately good, (can't come up with any logic for the 1.4 yet, I'll work on it).

What's most amazing with this shot is the tiny exit splash!

Hello Tim
Excellent title. A very elegant looking heron, and I like the blue tones.

Super shot with the new lens Tim, have a friend who shoots Nikon and uses almost exclusively the 300/2.8 and 1.7 converter his results are great, from what I have seen their is no difference in quality between that and the 1.4... (just wish Canon would make a 1.7  )

Hi Tim,

Great shot, I think Attenborough nature reserve is going to be very busy with Wildlife Photogs in the near future.
