From the 1/28 Colorado Springs Gazette:
Cars broken into at area parks
Colorado Springs police are warning parkgoers to keep valuables at home.
Police said numerous cars have been broken into recently at Garden of the Gods, North Cheyenne Canyon and Bear Creek parks. The thieves are shattering windows to get inside.
The break-ins have occurred during the day, and stolen items include purses, laptop computers and wallets.
Police said even leaving valuables in the trunk is not safe, since thieves use trunk-release buttons to gain access.
Anyone who sees suspicious activity in the parks should call police at 444-7000.
