York Beach Below Zero
My third predawn, below zero adventure in as many days.

I drove down to York Beach Saturday morning, still in search for seasmoke. I did get some in amazing light, but the sunrise was just as spectacular. With a stroke of fortune, the tide was just past high, and the ice on the rocks at the mark of tide was a good contrast to the warm sky. Probably my favorite morning of the three! (not to mention the easiest on me!

Layer up and get out there, lots to shoot in the dead of January!

Jim,

Excellent shot. Like the texture of the ice on the rocks and the red reflection of the sunrise in the water.

I love this one! It's been such a dreary winter for photography - the ice storm didn't provide anything good and we haven't had much snow - it's great to see something with color right now! I like the whole effect of the shot with the icy rocks in the foreground and the dramatic color - great! :toast:

A warm though on a cold day. Very nice image.
