Since Adobe has announced Lightroom one and the new version of Iview, Media Pro 3, which one would be the favorite? Is either one better than the other by a significant amount? Price is the same, $299.00. Adobe is offering a discount of $100.00 offer until April 30. I am debating which one will have the advantage. Which one would be easier to use? What are thoughts of others?

They don't do all the same functions. Lightroom has the ability to do raw image file editing and conversion to other file formats. iView is simply an digital asset management tool for cataloging your digital assets - images, documents, movies, etc. In as far as catalog features go, iView is much more robust. It can maintain a catalog of offline assets, do integrity checks of your digital assets, provides powerful search capabilities, and much more. Lightroom can't do any of those things with the power of iView. That being said, iView can't do any of the raw image file development. It can catalog those files, but you need other tools to do the raw file editing and conversion to other file formats.
