Iconic sunset shot of Cannon Beach this weekend (Oh what a weekend it was!) This is where I almost (about 150yds to the right) lost all my gear, with me attached, to the sea... Thanks to my Tamarac backpack for being semi-waterproof. Comments welcome!
I really like the comp... the ripples, the bird, etc, but I find myself trying to maky out some detail in the stacks. Maybe it is the brightness of the sun... my eyes just don't want to believe they should be looking at them as silhouettes.
Glad you didn't lose your gear, and especially yourself!

Dave,
The clarity and the colors are a big plus for this image. The bird also gives a good sense of scale. I just don't know if there is enough to hold my interest. I also detect some banding circles around the rock that blocks out the sun. I know, I know , I'm being a little nit picky.

Hey Davy Jones - I like this idea of framing the seagulls by the haystacks. This is a good shot !

Thanks for the comments guys, I noticed the banding too, but didn't see it until I uploaded it. Wasn't in the original.
