Working in the industry has taught me to wait until a few patches into a new OS. Give it a month or 2.

I've played with a pre-release version and it really needs a very hi-spec machine to even work at a average speed. I will stay with XP Pro for at least another year probably. Better the devil you know :D

Yup I too work in the industry and Microsoft need a good few patches before you role it out anywhere.....looks a nightmare from client/server point of view, but that's just my worry  The worst thing seems to be the amount of graphic card memory resources it needs for all it's flashy interfaces. If you have big graphics cards and above a gb of RAM it should work quite well. Onboard graphics will use your ram and you need all the ram you can get with vista.... but it's meant to be quite good. For those that depend on their PC for a living, I'd wait for a while or at least run dual systems. Let someother people give it a thrashing first!

Don't see why anyone would want to upgrade - what's what wrong with what we have (XP)? From the propaganda news clip I saw with Mr Rich bags Gates, it tried to sell Vista because it has a strip on the RHS of the screen that gives you news reports, weather, photos, etc. Well this is what Desktop Google does - and this is free! This is good for browsing your own computer to find photos but you need to be on-line - so be careful all porn fans and anti-New World order activists, because big brother will know what's on your computer.
