I pre-visualized this in black and white and set the camera accordingly. I'm not sure about it though. Does it suck or is it worth saving? I really am having a hard time with it...leaning toward suckage though.

Um.....well, I don't know about Darren, but for an icy-climate veteran such as myself, I'm not finding anything particularly interesting here. I guess I do kind of like the snowy shapes in the foreground, but it's lacking any unusual patterns, shapes or textures that would hold my interest beyond the next icicle shot I see. Just my opinions of course.

Well, I'm leaning with you, Erik.

What if you cropped off the right side, so the black "arch" is centered towards the bottom of the photo?
Oh, you're too funny!
Well, I'll say they are certainly massive spiky icicles. But I feel toward this shot like I did with my onion abstract. I'm kinda on the fence.... Perhaps it's a good shot to play with using artistic filters in PS, if you like that sort of thing.

To the bin in goes, I think, LOL. Thanks all!

Nothing to keep my interest, I'll have to side with the rest of them...sorry

Not doing a lot for me...... but nice pre-vis excercise.

Not terrible...but not feeling much of it either. I think a tighter crop and darkening the shadows completely would improve it some.

Is that where the Yeti lives ? Don't put this in the closet with the Hoover. It is a nice picture and interesting to look at, yet doesn't evoke any concepts that I relate to with strong emotion. But it doesn't suck at all.

Does not suck. (1) Good choice of B & W; (2) nice repeated shapes; (3) good contrast with the rounded shapes at bottom and LRC. I'd buy.
