For photographing birds in wetlands from dirt and paved paths, I would like to purchase a carrier on wheels to carry my equipment. The carrier would contain a tripod with a whimberly head and flash extension already attached, a camera with 500 mm lens, teleconverter, extra camera and lens. I want to be able to access my camera equipment quickly when the need arises. My thoughts were to get a used pram (babby buggy). Does anyone have any ideas on what is available on the market (not necessarily a baby buggy)? I would also like to hear from photographers who were faced with this problem and how they solved it. Any suggestions? Thank you.

I'm thinking "golf cart" here. Two big wheels, stable & light, built in bag, nice handle. Why make this hard?
Here's a link that shows different models. Some even fold up to stick in your car.
It doesn't quite meet a photographer's needs and it's a thought.
I'm currently thinking about either a little red wagon or possibly an insulated container on wheels. It gets mighty hot here in Nevada.

I would look at a modified golf cart.. here are some examples.. My father modified a jogging type baby carrier into a golf cart.. All you need is the frame with wheels and add your own extras..........

I've been using a 3 wheeled baby jogger for several years now and it works very well. The 500 with the camera on it goes where the baby goes, the tripod straps along the side, a bunch of stuff goes into the carrier in the bottom and my sitting/kneeling pad and a collapsible stool go in the mesh bag on the back. With 16 inch wheels it gets over pretty rough terrain without a problem.
I have a friend who used a golf cart for a while but gave up on it because it isn't stable on uneven terrain when you're not holding it plus with a lot of gear the weight on the handle can be pretty high. He also has to have his camera pack strapped to the cart which ends up getting muddy and dirty. With my buggy it carries all the weight and I just provide the propulsion. The underside of the cart gets dirty but my camera gear stays clean. YMMV
My buggy lives in the trunk of my car - the 3 wheels have quick releases and go in a cardboard box so I don't have to worry about the mud and the rest of the unit folds up flat.
Good luck.

I'm looking for something similar. Add to your thoughts, a place to hunker down if I'm waiting for birds to do their thing.
A friend suggested a gun cart and I'm including the URL.
