This doesn't translate all that well for the web since it's so detail heavy, but what the heck. I had gone out to photograph along the shoreline of lake superior at Cascade River state park, but the morning was rather cloudless and boring. As a result, I adjusted my game plan and moved into the woods that bordered the lake. It was early fall, and the undergrowth was turning vibrant colors. As the sun came over the horizon, it cast it's warm glow on the scene and I fired off a couple of exposures of this composition. I was quite pleased with my choice to shift to a more intimate scene and oppertunity. I hope you gather a bit of the same feeling that I had that morning when you view this image, especially this time of year!

I can tell it's a wonderful image Joel, I wish it was that type of weather again I am not a big winter person, I know you can get some great images in the winter but the older I get the colder I get Very nice shot the color and detail is wonderful. BTW are you getting any snow images?

Beautiful colors, Joel. I feel somehow warmer now. We haven't seen much color around here lately (is gray a color?) so it's nice to be reminded of what's to come.
I've been out shooting this winter a number of times yes, but it hasn't been a good season thus far. The north shore of Minnesota has virtually no snow, and central minnesota where I live has next to nothing. I was up along the north shore a couple of weeks ago with a friend (winter camping and such) and there was only about an inch on the ground...pretty pathetic. It's quite bizarre really, generally the snowfall is pretty well accumulated by now. In order to hit some decent snow I'd have to almost head up to Canada and inland a bit from the lake (into the BWCA area). Bleh. I wish our pals out in Colorado could send some snow our way.
I do have some winter shots in the bag though, but I have yet to send out the film for processing (I send it out to Colorado and I wait until I have a fairly large amount to send out as postage is involved). I'll post some winter stuff as soon as I get the chance. Thanks!
