Eagle Imposter
This is the Snow Goose that walked right up to me at Holla Bend earlier this week. On first sight he was about 75 yards away from me and the only stray bird from a flock of about 3000 geese. He was at least 200 yards away from the main flock. When I first saw him you can imagine how I thought he was a Baldie. I had to take a look through the lens to see that he was an imposter.

It pays to be still, quiet and patient....

Have a great weekend and be careful! Today at Holla Bend I fell out of the truck onto a frozen, ice covered road while stalking a bird. I managed to save the 500 and 1DM2...but I think I broke my arm!

Ouch!!! I had the same thought/fear of falling down at daylight this morning. We had some freezing fog in the Little Rock area around the Arkansas River. I wanted to make sure the camera and lens fell on me first instead of it hitting the ground. What we don't do for our gear! I hope your arm isn't broken. Take care.

I hope your arm is OK Larry. If it's any consolation, your arm will heal - the camera gear won't. Nice snow goose too!

All is well, except for the stiff arm and a few cuts. All 20 lbs of the camera rig crammed my arm in the road via my elbow. X-rays on Saturday did not show any breaks.

All in a days work...if you can call it work!

Thanks for the concern!
