Chaffinch....or Hummingbird? + a new image
For some reason this particular finch wasn't bothering with the easy pickings down at my feeding station yesterday and insisted on hovering to take food off my 'Woodpecker stump'....made for some fun trying to get some shots of it in action.

Edit - forgot the techs as usual! D200, 200-400VR@200mm 1/2000s@F/5.6, ISO800

Lovely, clear shot. Nice to have the bird looking up like that.

Well done.

Very nice capture indeed. Lovely and sharp and very vibrant. Why not clone out the stump for a real beauty of a flight shot?

Thanks very much for the comments. I thought you may like to see this one as well, it's a pity the head is slightly turned but it shows how accurate this bird was at picking just what she wanted from the trunk. It was quite fascinating watching her in action....

Excellent... my only suggestion apart from removeing the stump totally would be to clone the peanuts stuck in it........
