Check out the latest Arizona HotSpot - Sabino Canyon. Thanks to Sam Rua (a friend of Stacy Egan's) for the great writeup and pics!

Lovely - I especially like the Pyrrhuloxia. Now if only Tucson wasn't so far away...

Great writeup, Sam! And great photos to really show the desert environs and the animal life that you've captured images of there. I really liked the photo of the fall-colored tree and its reflection! And the soft colors on the butterfly image are very nice.
I would only add that if you're into flower photography, Sabino Canyon is a great place for that too. Mid-to-late April is a good time to photograph blooming prickly pear, in abundance in Sabino Canyon, and early May to photograph the saguaro blooms. I also have enjoyed photographing datura blossoms in Sabino Canyon.
Thank you for doing this write-up, Sam! Your many visits to Sabino Canyon really show in the amount of information and images you've provided.

Thanks for the write-up! I'll be down in Tucson in a few weeks to get my early fix of baseball, and plan on visiting the canyon.
Thanks to all for the wonderful response. And to Rick for doing a really nice job with the formatting. But, you all should really thank Stacy for prodding me to do this in the first place.
