Hi,
After dropping off a months bird food supply with my friendly warden I journeyed out to recce the Stonechats at Elmley, unfortunately last years little 'hotspot' had been totally cleared by the farmer but after a short search I found a couple feeding down the ditch leading to the farm, not so easy to find them within range though.
After observing for a while I moved the car to a spot where they seemed to perch closer and waited, eventually they perched but persisted in presenting their backs so the best I could do was wait for a headturn.....
All the best
Phil

Clearly your patience paid off handsomely here Phil. Superb background and I like how you've balanced the perch in your framing of the subject too.

Nicely constructed image - just reward for the patient fieldcraft described (and a good bit of music always helps the patience I find!!)

Tidy shot, always like this angle of the bird looking over its shoulder. I once sat down in some bracken and the birds came to me to check what I was up to.
