I just bought CS2 and installed it today. I've been working on some images and have noticed some of my shortcuts arent working. Specifically the [ and ] for brush sizes, ESC will not take me out of anything, and my arrows dont work for moving selections, adjust curves etc... Do I have to somehow activate all of them? I checked the shortcuts and they are all there, just some of them arent working.

Often, if behavior goes weird in PS, the thing to do is dump the preferences file (and then set up those choices again). No idea why, but that usually fixes unexpectedly weird behavior. Some specific instructions from Adobe here: http://www.adobe.com/cfusion/knowledgebase/index.cfm?id=331483

CS2 has always workrd well for me and it should for you also. I now use the Beta CS3 and experienced the same problem with the brush sizes. I reported the problem to Adobe and the said they were aware of the problem but it would not be fixed until the public version came out in the Spring of 2007. Lo and behold an update to CS3 came out about two weeks ago and the problem has been fixed. BTW wait until you see how well CS3 stitches panoramas, awsome. CS2 and CS3 are different for PC ans Mac, I use a Mac.

I agree with Marshall. That should take care of the issue. If not, a reinstall definitely will.

Thanks for input, but I think the problem is that I may have bought it from a fraudulant company. I called adobe and they couldn't decode my registration number. They suspect is a bogus copy. On the bright side, it appears the company is going to give me a full refund.
