If you hike towards the river from the parking lot on the west side of the road, you'll come to a couple of puddles and then ponds. This is one of the puddles and looking back towards the road.

Mark,
Good job pulling a nice image out of a hat. I count five layers and they really balance the scene out nicely.

The reflection is very nice here as the warmness to the grass really makes this image. By the way thank you for the posting earlier today.

Nice one! I would be tempted to get rid of the white spots and dots in the pond on the right side of the image. On second thought, I would for sure get rid of them.

Nice work, I love that area. I see this as a work in progress, not the absolutely stellar finished product you've posted.....keep working it. This is kind of interesting if you scroll down to where the image loses its distant layer, so you see only the water and the highlighted grass and a shadow in the background.
Some fall, if you like, let's spend an entire day on dry grass textures!

Thanks for everyone's comments.
Eric, I have a version like you describe. When I get home I'll work it and post it. Grass is real tough to photograph, it's hard to come up with a comp.
I agree, it's a challenge, but (IMHO of course) some of your most striking work has used the texture and color of dry grass to good effect. I sure want to keep trying.....but then, soon it will be spring.....
