So, I have come to this conclusion....we need some photography to look at on this forum. Too much discussion...too little photos....

With that being said...

Post your latest and greatest!!

Ok Jon, here is the latest and most certainly greatest. I took this last night while looking at my toes waiting for the light to hit the peaks. This represents incredible time, effort and creativity. I lovingly refer to this one as "White Snow".

I like the idea, think it might be better if the ramp/dock was off-center, tho. The sunset/rise looks spectacular, but unfortunately the funky colors kinda ruin it for me.

Are the colors off?

The colors do look weird Jon. Personally, I like the centered dock, but it could work for me in other ways too.

Good idea, John. Your colors look okay to me. Erik, great detail shot!

Here's Pettingel Peak shortly before all Hell broke loose.

Erik - Your picture is too busy. There are so many areas within the frame that draw my attention that I find it dufficult to focus on any one part of the image. I think this would be a much better photo if you had used a zoom lens to isolate some of the more compelling elements. Also I think the title should be "Bluish Snow".

On the other hand, I can't help but think that the meaning of life, or at least the key to the universe, is contained somewhere within this image so I'm going to keep staring at it until I have an epiphany. Can't write any more - gotta turn on the blacklight, fire up the incense and contort myself into the lotus position...

Latest? Here's the last image that I took last night - Sunset Over The Chalk Bluffs, Pawnee National Grassland.

Ypsilon Sunrise, shot with my new Fujinon 450mm f/12.5.

Here is a photos of Utah Lake that I took last Saturday. The sun went down, then all of a sudden peaked through the clouds and highlighted just the tips of the mountain.

Um, Houston (Brad), we have a problem. Nice alpenglow, if it was a blacklight poster.

Really beautiful images! Really like the Ypsilon sunrise. Great light!

CAZ, I'm glad you understood my snow photo and the deeper meanings which it conveys. Sometimes I feel like people just don't understand my work. I guess I should also have posted the others in this series to better set the context, "Snow at Midnight", "Grey Sky", "Fog" and "Frozen water". It is nice to know that at least someone "gets it".

If you want my "latest and greatest", it's all ice. Wake me when it's over and I can get some pictures like Mike's. I. Want. Spring.
