Hi ARD, I lived in the New Forest for 20 years (and I'm only 24!) and I haven't yet found a way to get between a New Forest pony and it's dinner!
If it had raised it's head I would certainly have got more shots, but typically, it just ambled along with it's head down looking for the next tasty looking bit of grass!

Hi Pete,
Head position aside, still a nice image with good strong colours. Roll on the summer

Hi Pete
Yes re. head position, but great atmospheric shot!
Hi Pete,
My favourite subject in my favourite location
Lovely shot and really sums up a warm peaceful New Forest evening.
A raised head would certainly be nice, although easier said than done as you know, but I still feel the image works well showing just what the New Forest ponies do best.

Not sure whether I should have included the sun in this, but to get the warm orange tones I had little choice.

Phillip.
I agree!!

When I saw it before reading the comments I thought - 'that's nice - shame about the head position'.
Light and sun position great.
Did you take more shots with the head up??
