Hi Nick,
I like the composition of the image and that lovely vibrant yellow on the bill. It does to me seem to have a "crunchy" look, try removing the last 2 or 3 rounds or USM and see if it looks any better.
Regards
Rob

Thanks Rob and feel free to point out any further errs i make no matter how basic i need to learn
I went back to the original raw and converted with no sharpening in RSP then applied sharpening of 150, 1.5, 4 once in PSE which looks a lot better to me.

Hi Nick,
To be honest the only issue I can see on the first shot is evidence of selective sharpening perhaps around the edges of the swan. Doesn't seem to have compressed that well around those areas Other than that, they're both superb portrait shots of a swan I've not seen yet Really nicely exposed, maybe even try a tighter crop as well to show the detail in the bill even more
Well Nick you can bring it Downunder and hang it on my Wall anytime you choose I just great to my line of thought, looking forward to seeing more of your work.
Its great to be able observe what people in that part of the world are doing with your gear, when funds become available in the near future I intend become full member of NPN then I will be able to share with you what I do on this side.

Thanks for that guys.
Graeme comparing the original too the web jpeg it does appear that compression is causing the "sharpening" problem.
