Horse rider at sunset
Not sure if this will be to everyones taste but I like it...

Taken on a trip to shoot short eared owls. The SEO's were not playing ball so got no shots at all of them, however as the sun got lower a lady came along on her horse, we had a chat with her and she went off to ride through the grass/trees to see if she could spot any owls. As she was going past I thought to myself 'thats a lovely shot, shame about the trees in the way'. I took one shot anyway, waiting for the rider to go between the clearing in between two trees and this is it.

I only processed it quickly so I'm sure there is more that can be done with it if I take my time, but basically I just played with the levels so that I could make out the horse a little more in amongst the foliage. Although I didn't like it at the time its actually growing on me now and I'm starting to like the inclusion of the branches and they way they are OOF. Its also slightly cropped as the horse was almost dead centre to start with.

D2x, 200-400 VR at 400mm, 1/1250 second at f5.6, ISO 400 (too high, forgot to change it having been shooting in to shadows before hand!)

Like I said not to everyones taste but thought it would be something different!

Hi Richard

What a great silhouette, just the right amount of detail. I also like the colours and your composition!

Hi Richard,

Very well seen and executed considering it's a "grab" shot. Composition and exposure are spot on. I hope you catch up with the SEO soon.

Regards
