Acrobatic Eagle
This was just a fun shot from this morning at Holla Bend NWR. The eagle made a fly by when something caught it's eye. It made an abrupt almost upside down turn, circled twice over a few ducks in from of me and then continued on it's way. No, I wasn't standing on my head or have the camera upside down. I saw zero snow geese and 7 eagles in that area, some of the eagles were outside the NWR.

This is cropped about 50%.

Those are some frisky birds over there in HB.

On Friday I spoke to another photographer that I see in the refuge almost every day. He said the game and fish folks are bomb-netting some turkey in the refuge and that has probably driven away the geese and most of the eagles. The last two times I have been there have only been the two resident eagles anywhere near.

My last contact with the geese was actually out in the lake just in front of the visitors center in Russellville. We trolled around them several times in a pontoon boat....I also saw them outside Holla Bend along the highway you travel to enter the refuge.

Have a great one!

Thanks Larry. I wondered what happened to the geese. I saw the two HB eagles and thought that was it until I started driving around the backroads of Yell county.

An upside down eagle, you don't see that everyday!
