Went down to the upper Buffalo last weekend. There was still a lot of ice and a just a little snow. Here's a shot of what Tim's waterfall book calls Adkins Canyon. I like the way the icicles on the right lead down to the waterfall. What do you think?

Thanks for looking.

Nice find Bruce, I like what you have done here. You might look at cropping the sky out and possibly some of the left side to give the image a little more balance, just my thoughts for what there worth . I do like the way the ice is hanging into the water, I had to look hard to make sure the waterfall was't frozzen also. Nice one Bruce, thanks for sharing!

Really interesting ice formations, Bruce. I think there's a pretty nice B&W in there somewhere. Anyway, that's something I'm always tempted to pursue when the environment doesn't provide much color. Thanks for posting.

BTW - I had som difficulty viewing the image - sometimes the link worked properly, and sometimes it didn't display at all.

Bruce, I'm not seeing the image? Interesting, as soon as I posted this the image came up with the response. Those are some pretty imposing ice formations. I too would be interested in a b/w version of this. Thanks for sharing!

I'd be inclined to go with a B&W version too, Bruce. And, as David said, I think cropping from the top and from the left to a square format would be worth a try. Nice work!

Ok guys, thanks for the comments. B/W was something I thought of but I left it in color because I liked what little color there was. Guess I'm craving the green of spring. I hadn't got back here yet because I was under the weather. Here's a new comp from a slightly different angle, converted to B/W also. Like it?

Well Bruce, no pun intended but the second shot has a better flow to it for me. There is plenty of detail in the ice and only a small portion of the fall itself is blown out. I like the tighter comp better, well done! Hope you are feeling better! :wavey:

Yep - that's a much more focused composition. Nice job. As Wayne mentions, there is some blown out portions of the falls, but it doesn't distract too much.

Oh - and the B&W is just right for this image. IMHO, much improved!

Not sure what to tell you Brent. I had a momentary case of that myself but it went away. If you want go to www.pbase.com/rrhatbruce and you'll find the new photo in my inbox.

Nice job Bruce, the b&w conversion and a tighter crop make this much nicer. Thanks for sharing!

Bruce,

The In Box seems to be password protected and the first link to the bw gives me a forbidden, requires login error.

The first link is working now. I like the b&w. Nice job.
