Hi
took this shot at Northward Hill nature reserve, by the feeders near the carpark if anyone knows it. Trying out my brand new 300mm on all the little birds that wouldn't come within 10m of me. I missed THE opportunity too because i was concentrating too hard. Looked up from my camera to see a sparrowhawk swoop in to land less than a metre from me. Then it realised i was there and was gone, i missed the shot as i was stunned.
Anyway comments appreciated on this i am not sure if bg isn't too busy. 350D + 300mm f4L 1/250@4.0 ISO 200

A good bird in habitat shot, shame about the light coloured branch in the background just above the bird, nice to see a Sparrowhawk up close, lucky you!!

A good habitat shot.... Had similar experiences with a Sparrow Hawk when one swooped and took a bird directly infront of me......
Northward Hill.... Grain? I'm guessing you can't be far from me.
All the best
Phil
Shame about the Sparrow Hawk
I think the Dunnock does look a little lost against the busy background. However this is a tricky bird to photograph, so you've done well.
I guess as you were in the car park you were using your car as a hide?
Rob
wasn't in the car but behind a wicker screen they have there.
Thanks for the comments everyone
