Dunnock
Taken yesterday in my garden during light rain (which washed away all the snow :frown:), a very shy timid bird and very difficult to get a decent shot of it perched as it spends most of the time on the lawn

EOS-1D II, 300/2.8LIS + 2X2, f5.6 @ 1:100, ISO 400

Nice pose from the bird Larry, I do find the highlights on the Ivy and top of the fence to be a distraction though, perhaps they can be toned down? But I do like the size of the bird in the frame and the fence as a perch... there is a top notch image in there just a bit of work to get it.

All the best

Hi Larry

A little work on those hot spots and you will have a cracking image!

Thanks for the comments Phil & Dave, very much appreciated

Not entirely sure exactly how to tone down specific areas of an image, It's probably been mentioned on here somewhere before will have a seach, had thought about blending too images one raw converted light and one converted dark but then who wants to sit in front of a computer all day :frown: not me, no fun at all!!!
so will probably bin or store this image for if I ever get time to master photoshop..in another life!! and will go out and spend more time in the hide and try and get it again in the garden but without the hot spots..might give the ivy a quick trim and rearrange some of the lighter coloured leaves.
