Taken last year in a local park. As im still very new to this it seems to take me quite a long time sat in front of the pc to get the image looking good enough for print.Im thinking there must be an easier way than the way im doing it.
After i have d/l to my hd i open up in rawshooter and go through the images three or more times to delete the bad ones. Maybee play about with the sliders a little before saving and then open up in photoshop and once again do a spot of tweaking and usm. I am considering trying a different method so any advice would be helpfull.
Around 20% cropping and two passes usm.

A difficult bird to photograph so you have done very well here.... I quite like the setting, it is just a shame the bird isn't a bit lower down on the perch so that it has less interference behind....

Have a look at my Lapwing image where I have briefly detailed my RAW workflow for ideas...

Hi Matt

You did well to get a fairly clean shot of this tricky little bird. The bird would have been better a little lower in the frame and it's a pity the beak is lost a bit against the branch - but definately a keeper!

A bird I have had only issed opportunities with, so good one on getting anything of these. I'd be happy with it. I only have blurred ones
