This is on my must see list, but I don't think it will happen this year. :frown:

Ken Cravillion also has some very nice shots of the ice caves. http://www.kgcphoto.com/apostle_islands_ice_caves.htm

Also, if you happen to have a copy of Craig Blacklock's The Lake Superior Images, I believe there's an ice cave shot in there as well.

Thank You Philip and Joel for this info. Funny thing guess who I met yesterday at the Ice Caves.....Philip. BTW the caves are beautiful but the ice formations should get better with some thaw/freeze weather, which sounds like we may have the first of next week.

Hey Barb and Philip, would you mind posting a shot or two over here if you have time? It would be interesting to see what you came up with.

I came back from my first visit to the ice caves and I’ve finished loading the pictures into the computer. Hope to take a closer look at them in the next few days and will post a few then. I enjoyed meeting Barb at the end of the day. It was a balmy 10 degrees so I spent six hours on the ice. It was a little cooler this morning with a -15 wind chill. This would be a great place to take a photography class if anyone is considering offering a winter photography class. The caves run for about a mile along the coast and offer some great photo opportunities. It’s hard to believe that the ice formations can get even better. I can’t wait to get back in a few weeks.
